 MUVs are the most preferred automobile cars in India given the ample of space and strength they provide for all purposes.

MUVs are the most practical vehicles among all the automobiles in India that are being offered at the moment. The first point that works in their favor is the seating capacity; these vehicles have enough space to accommodate 7-8 adults in one go. Another point that brings admiration for them is the fuel economy and strength they have to pass through all kind of rough paths. And last, the economic cost at which they can be availed easily. From luggage carrying to family trips they serve all purposes in best way. In recent years there have been a sharp increase in entries and competition in this segment. Out of all entries some submission proved their mettle and won an edge over others. A few of them have been discussed below. 


Toyota Innova: Available in the price range of Rs.8.92-14.32 lakhs, this MUV is the most demanded vehicles in India. The elegance, strength, and comfort that this automobile has to offer is incomparable in comparison to others. Available in petrol and diesel versions, Innova offers you better muscle with its petrol power mill.Maruti Suzuki Ertiga: It is more known for its car like handling and appearance. This Maruti car cum MUV can comfortably accommodate 7 adults in one go. It lacks proper luggage space but is a perfect vehicle for short urban family outings and trips. The diesel version of this MUV is a more suitable option for those who have a tight budget for fueling as its diesel version’s power to weight ratio measure at 73PS per ton. This ration makes it a much better option as compared to Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova. 

Tata Aria: One of the best vehicles after Indica and Safari Storme from Tata’s house, Tata Aria has not been noticed much by buyers due to its high price. The powertrain of this car is the heaviest among all submissions made in Indian MUV segment. With a 2.2 liter diesel power mill this MUV carries a weight to power ratio of 64PS per ton which provides it with a lower mileage, another reason why buyers have kept this car at bay. Priced between Rs.12-16 lakhs, this MUV is an all-terrain car with an all-wheel drive system.

Mahindra Xylo: Its other features may not be as powerful as other MUVs but the larger sales number of this vehicle make it stand among top contenders in terms of performance. With a 2.5-litre diesel engine, this MUV provides a power of 113PS. It can accommodate 6-7 adults at a time and has a weight to power ratio of 63PS per ton. The price of this car varies between Rs.7.6-Rs.10.6 lakhs and is available in 9 trims that run on diesel engines and manual transmissions. Except the latest H9 BS4 (12-14kmpl) all other trims of this MUV deliver a mileage of 10-12kmpl.
